The Panthers have a lot of problems, but I keep coming back to the lack of production by DE Julius Peppers. He's simply not a factor.

I asked him what the Cowboys did to keep him in check. His answer: "Nothing special."

He probably figures all he has to do is show up and we'll pay him 20 mill again next year, because it doesn't seem like he's playing for a contract from anyone else.

If he would agree to a new long term deal with a new team we might be able to trade him but I think that is prohibited since he is under the tag.

I wish we had just let him walk at the start of free agency this year. He could have killed some other teams cap and we would have had some money to improve our team. Maybe we would have added a solid veteran DT so that we would not be getting run on so much. Maybe we would have kept more of our special teams players, we look awful in that area. Maybe the locker room would be better without Peppers and his monster contract as a part of it.

None of it really matters now though I suppose. We are stuck with him for this season and all we can do is hope he starts playing better.
