In Jake we still trust: in defense of delhomme

I like Moore, but he's not the guy this franchise can hang their hat on. Likability doesn't equal talent. If it did, Jake would be the best QB of all time.

I assume you mean Jake's ability? It has always had relevance. You refusing to accept that he is mediocre as an NFL QB doesn't make it any less true.

 

it's no different than people saying that suddenly after one game Jake has lost arm strength. It's not an issue. Plus you said the same things in Jake's Pro Bowl year, so try not to pat yourself too hard for telling yourself how right you are.

and while I don't agree that there are currently a hundred guys out there that would put up better seasons, I don't believe the next good QB will be some high pick who gets it handed to him, so you'll probably have to keep being sore about that.

 

He hasn't lost his arm strength....he looks fine when everyone else looks fine, but his mediocre talent shows when he needs to carry the team.

And are you referring to the year Jake was in the Pro Bowl and threw for 51 yards with a turnover?

Pretty obvious the reason theres so many differing opinions on message boards is because some people are just glad to have a team,,,, while others have the audacity to want more. Imagine that, some folk would actually like the Panthers to build a consistent winner??? The NERVE of them to expect so much.

 

that's absolutely untrue, but no different than suggesting it's arm strength. Last game didn't happen simply because other people weren't carrying him, but not unlike Larry's statement earlier, it's fantastic how people conveniently decide when a team concept in the ultimate team sport is or isn't relevant.

 

yeah, every other team that has fans with high expectations, those teams make the Super Bowl every year. Every year. You just don't see those teams at the Super Bowl because you're nearsighted.
