since Larry's thread is a great idea, figured I'd start another. It hasn't completely devolved into the "fuck Jake/mention Cowher/Tebow" threads, but it's in a different form.

So - what else would help?

    More TE?

    More shotgun?

    More max-protection type plays?

We have to beat the blitz before we stop seeing it as much. We have to run effectively. And it's time to put something more high percentage in.

All told, finding a way to not panic while down by 4 points or more would be nice.

shotgun would help see the field more and get the ball out quicker. would totally change the run-game, though, and that's the base of the offense.

i'm pretty damn interested to see what they come up with this weekend.

    No wildcat
few more draw plays tossed in.
Shotgun would be a big help. But, Jake might shot his foot off.

Don't use the wildcat - all it got us this weekend was some bad down & distance situations.

If we're gonna go deep don't send the fucking 67 year old WR. He's here to block, run slants, or catch it coming across the middle. Each time we did that Sunday I held my damn breath hoping he wouldn't pull his damn hamstring. If we go deep send Smitty or Jarrett or one of the TEs down the seam.

If the DBs are sitting off the WRs at the line throw the damn smoke screen. If they start jumping it, pump it and go deep.

    1st down - run
    2nd down - run
    3rd down - run
4th down - punt or kick FG

We have (supposedly) a great run blocking line and two great backs, plus a solid reserve.

I wouldn't throw a single pass until Atlanta started regularly putting 8 in the box.

We actually did this a few years ago down there and came away with a win. Now, we'll need to score more than 10 points this week to win but I think we have to get back to what we do best. Run the ball.

Their offense looked rather anemic against Miami.

Unless we get down my more than 7, do not call any risky pass plays. Run the ball or give Jake something quick and easy to complete. A three yard pass to Smith has a chance to turn into a big play. The main thing is to stop all the turnovers. Give the defense and running game a chance to keep it close until the end.
