Only one guy hit him though right? I was at the game, so I am only going on memory. Still, from the replay in the stadium, it didn't really look like Jake did a great job of protecting the ball.

well given that he fumbled, sure. Ball security's a bit of a concern.
And in no way is two guys going right at the QB ever a good thing.

Tell you what, how about we just say neither side of that worked out. I'm about over the line getting any sort of pass.

What about the pass Jake threw right into 4 Eagles down inside the 5 yd.line but it fell incomplete (right before half, we got field goal)...

Sometimes you can blame receivers for interceptions, but most of Jake's turnovers are a result of his simply trying to force the ball, usually to Smitty when others are wideassopen.

Oh, I don't want to give the any sort of a pass at all, they were fucking pathetic. Even on the first drive, it seemed as though the decent runs were more of a credit to the RBs than the lines - especially the TD run.

That reminds me - Smitty was pissed in a big way when Jake didn't see him wide open on third down play in the 1st (I think it was the 1st). If Jake loses Smitty, he'll lose the locker room, imo.

Another thing not mentioned is why do the Panthers (Jake or o-coordinator) call plays and pass to a spot that isn't first down material. I mean when it's third and 12 why throw it 5 yards to a receiver. Even if he gets caught after catch it's a 1st down.

In a way our play calling is partly to blame. If I was the OC and I was up 7-0 I would play it pretty close to the vest. We have three running backs who can play, well one can't hang on the ball, but still we can run as much as we want and not wear out. Take away the Eagles points off turnovers and this was a close game....
