not really too down on him myself, I guess I'm just not a fan of consecutive trade ups

Brown looked pretty decent. Goodson looks great. That block on Ray Lewis was hilarious. The announcer said something about how frightening it must have been for him and then when they went back to the replay Goodson put Lewis on his ass. Later he missed a block by trying to go low on the guy, but he's still a rookie.

I'm much more worried about our Defense than Offense although we need to start looking for someone to replace Jake. McCown's throws looked much better than Jake's.

It was hard to tell on TV, but do you think our defense is compensating for our weakness against the run and thus not as worried about helping out Gamble?

Thought Goodson missed two blocks (one he went outside while the rusher came right up the middle) but that will happen with a rookie RB.

Also have to agree that Brown looked pretty damn good last night. He was really close to making a couple of plays. I think in another year he might be a force. Price was high but if Brown and Goodson both contribute you have to admit it was worth it.

He blew by Oher and was about to sack Flacco (who shredded us) but got held so he played pretty well. Disrupted a running play or two as well. He'll be solid

I'm not at all worried about the forst rounder for Brown / Goodson.

The second rounder for Sharrod Martin? Fuck.

Oher got away with murder on a couple of plays. Pulled the DE down by his jersey

    sure.
That's a totally different ideal than whether a guy who had a sack in each of the first two games is suddenly not good based on a game that may not have been seen.

He wasn't bad, so I feel slightly better about trading a 1 for a second rounder. Still not feeling all cheerful about it though.

i thought he looked far better than our other DEs (outside Peppers) and think he will be starting sooner than later ... but he looks to be much more effective coming from the right than the left, soi think it will mean moving Peppers back to the left side, which is anyones guess as to how that will sit with him. my guess is that he's a team player and would accept the switch in order to get Brown on the field.

he looked very quick to me. not strong enough yet, but has a variety of moves. one play where he shot behind the d-line at the snap from the right and pounced on the ball-carrier who was running off the right tackle -- man.
