    I'm lost...
It seems that when 'whoever' built the deck, they put a plastic sheet under it to keep weeds from growing up through. But whatever they used doesn't allow water to filter through. So I have all these small little puddles under my deck that you can see by looking through the deck-board spaces. They never go away. I cannot get under the deck to do anything about it though because it sits so low to the ground. So any recommendations on something I could do, or treatment I can use to stop the mosquitos from using this water to breed?

    Mosquito Preventer Granules
Kills mosquitoes before they hatch. Sprinkle granules in standing water (birdbaths, fishponds, water gardens) to prevent larvae from hatching.

•Controls mosquito larvae within 24 hours
•Kills developing mosquitoes which may carry West Nile Virus and Encephalitis
•Easy to use, can be applied to areas used by birds, pets or wildlife; or that contain aquatic life, fish and plants

    HollyBird's solution might be cheaper.

I liked my idea with the deck but noooooooo....ok it won't keep rain away but it will be super pretty. I want a trellis over it.

    Napalm.

    Robert Duvall recommends it.

Pull one of the deck boards. This will allow you to remove plastic. Then just spray with strong weed kill every few months. You can add a little K-1 to the mix. You could also, use a long blade knife and cut the plastic though the cracks.

I was going to suggest pouring gasoline or motor oil on the plastic. But it seems Plate Dad has a less aromatic and volatile solution.

No it is not as you think. You use about 1/4 cup of K-1 mix the weed killer. I use round up concertrate (tough brush) mix it double strength. In a 2 1/2 gallon sprayer. Works great. And last. But, you have to have weeds before any of them will work.
