I should take a pic but anyways....on the tomato plants and some other plants i have these red squishy bugs that look somewhat similar to a lady bug. I've tried to find em on the web but i haven't had any luck.
I want to know if they are harmful or hurtful and what to use to get rid of em if they are harmful.

    They are half-grown potato bugs.
This is full grown (laying eggs- those really bright orange globs on the leaves)

little dish detergent and a beer in your sprayer, hook it up the the water hose and spray everything in the yard... i keep a squirt bottle on the side for a quick spot treatment here and there... but that should do it

I pick them off and feed them to the fish, but you can use sevin dust or spray, I've never used the dish washing detergent, I might try it though.
