    Where's the best and cheapest place to buy an 8 gig I Phone. My daughter wants one and so I challenged her to a 3.3 grade point average during her freshman year in college and we'd get her one. She pulled in a 3.5 taking 32 hours. I am 1 year into a 2 year deal with ATT, am I going to have to pay 400 for it? Anyone trust buying one off of Ebay and swapping simm cards or know of a better route to go? A 400 dollar phone is a whale of a lot cheaper than having her lose her 6800 scholarship

    indeed it is. but will she really lose her scholarship if you don't give her the phone?

    at any rate, you promised her the phone if she got the 3.3 or better. time to pony up.

    No, she keeps her scholarship if she goes below a 3.0. I wanted to give her incentive to work hard her freshman year. She was never a phone text type but all of her new friends do and then she saw a few of those folks that had them and fell in love with them. If all I have to do is extend my service with ATT I'll jump on two of them. The apps on the phones are cool. I wonder if other similar phones have half as many similar apps?

    That may be your key. Tell her you found out a new one is coming out, and ask her to hold out till its out. She'll enjoy having the latest one anyways.

    If you're already under contract with AT&T, I don't know of a way to get around the $200 early upgrade charge. Like Lar said, a new OS is coming out soon, havent heard anything about actual new phones.
