    Sounds like Smitty, athletically.

    I don't like slocum, either.

Yay. A bit of a malcontent!

We must really like this guy to choose him over Oline depth, and guys like Ringer and Peerman
The guy's a playmaker but has character concers

Has the uncanny ability to be patient, not to mention the vision to see the hole before it even forms, and a north/south burst to write home about. Add his ability as a receiver out of the backfield (25 ypc) with his dangerous kick/punt return ability, kid is one of the best in the nation.

Scout ranked him #6 RB overall coming out of HS

    Overall Football Traits

Production 3 2006: Goodson starts one of the 13 games he appears in during his true freshman season rushing for a total of 847 yards and four touchdowns on 127 carries. He also catches 17 passes for a total of 113 yards. 2007: Goodson starts seven of the 13 games he plays in rushing for a total of 711 yards and four touchdowns on 153 carries. He also catches 36 passes for a total of 361 yards and four touchdowns. 2008: Goodson starts seven of the 10 games he appears in rushing for a total of 406 yards and five touchdowns on 94 carries. He also catches 37 passes for a total of 386 yards and three touchdowns and returns one punt 10 yards.

Height-Weight-Speed 2 Goodson added some weight to frame heading into the 2008 season, has room on his frame to add more bulk without losing too much quickness and has very good top-end speed.

Durability 4 Missed two games and slowed by a sprained knee in 2008.

Character 3 Unconfirmed reports that relationship with program soured over the last year so character needs to be investigating further.

    Running Back specific Traits

Competitiveness 4 Flashes an effective stiff arm in space and fights for yards after contact but lacks ideal lower body strength and is too much of an east-west runner at this point. Doesn't keep ball tight to frame when trying to make defenders miss in space, cradles it with inside arm at times and can put it on the ground as a result. Appears hesitant going over the middle (2008 New Mexico game) and took eye off the ball to locate linebacker at one point.

Vision 4 Gives blockers time to get into position but too patient and dances in the hole at times. Does a fine job of locating cutback seam when in space.

Explosiveness 2 Can turn the corner in a flash, shows a second gear when gets into space and has above-average top-end speed.
Balance/Change-of-Directions 2 Possesses above-average balance and does a nice job of spinning out of arm tackles when gets into space. Makes crisp cuts at the line of scrimmage and can cut back against the grain. Elusiveness is a notch below elite but slippery open field runner that can make the first defender miss.

Passing Game 2 Has experience lining up in the slot. Snatches ball out of the air and can turn a catch underneath into a long gain. Flashes ability to run crisp routes but footwork is inconsistent and going to have a harder time separating from man coverage at the NFL level. While shows adequate awareness in pass protection doesn't sink hips well enough and he struggles to anchor against rushing linebackers.

    Trait Scale
    1 = Exceptional 2 = Above average 3 = Average 4 = Below average 5 = Marginal

    Sounds like a wasted pick

we like our RS a little moody.

I wanted a lineman, definitely. He's very versatile, though, and a kick returner will get more looks on the field than a backup G. We should still go there in a bit, it looks like the D staff got what they wanted and can let the O get a spot or two.

You can't go into the season with just 2 RBs. I'd rather have a G here but the value didnt seem to be there. The guy is 208. He can be a RB for us. We throw to all our RBs

ESPN is showing clips. Looks good (at his best).
