FWIW, Sirius is speculating that Martin becomes CB2, and Marshall will stay at nickel.

God, I hate this draft so far. I really want to punch Hurney square in the face, and I've never really felt that way about him before. Can a brotha get some hope here? :worried:

Martin's agility #'s at the combine were fantastic.

His 20 yd short shuttle time of 3.98 was 2nd best of the entire combine. No WR's or RB's came close and only one DB was quicker at 3.96.....

His 3 cone drill time of 6.60 looks like it was the 2nd best with Malcolm Jenkins 6.59 being the only one better.....

I was thinking he'd have a chance to beat out Marshall too. Apparently Martin had a fine Senior Bowl.

Okay, that helps. That definitely makes him sound like a cover 2 corner. Needs to get stronger, but that's probably the easiest thing to "fix".

Those #s do sound good. Gantt talks about the "new cover2 D." I thought Meeks would be running the same Fox D, but maybe that's not the case.

Beason has said he doesn't want to miss any time while the coaches install the new system.

I don't know how likely it is, one way or the other. Meeks wasn't even a c2 guy before Dungy, so it's not like he was a C2 guru that demanded to do it. That, to me, says that the Panthers went after him for that purpose, to have him run it.

nice work doing the legwork on that. I knew he was good at combine but that's fantastic.

FWIW, on tape he looks like a football player, not a track star. He's not a workout warrior, just a warrior that worked out well.

I don't know that he'd play outside and that Marshall would stay at nickel, though. My guess is we settle that on the field.

Very interesting. Of course, they can still keep the better parts of the Fox D, if they want some kind of hybrid.

I have a felling Peppers won't be around to learn ANY of the new system.

if he holds out maybe. I don't see a trade happening at this point.
