    He won't sit out. He's getting older, and he's not going to pass up 17 mil.
    That said, I'd MUCH rather trade his ass than pay him 17 mil.

    Correct. Peppers will not sit out the entire year, but he could conceivably sit out until Week 10 and then play the rest of the season while still accruing a "year of service." That would make him eligible for free agency and presumably force us to franchise tag him again. The downside for him would be giving up $9 million of his salary for the weeks he didn't report.

    I don't think he'll sit out, too much cash involved. But on the other hand, I don't think he'll be wearing a Panthers uniform this fall either.

    I'm not a fan of $17M one year players though. That's a lot of money that could go toward the future

    I fear Peppers signs and plays this year and puts up '07 numbers again... He'll play but not hard for fear of injury and to put the F.O. in an unfavorable position regarding the tag next off-season.
