knee is a big worry. It'd have to be a good contract.

the reasons he's available are long and cumbersome - we'd have to give up picks, he doesn't want to take a pay cut or he'd be a Jet, he isn't in shape or he'd be a Jet, and so on.

Also don't see the immediate need for a starter. While we have a year to eval Kemoeatu without Jenkins, a young player makes more sense.

Plus, there's a half dozen vets with issues that will be available on the cheap after the draft.

hell, there's a few out there now.

I'd feel better going in with a guy like Scott, and knowing there's a sweet spot for DTs in the 2nd and 3rd. But, I don't know if we'd keep four active DTs if one of them isn't a 390 lb, sleep apnea laden mound lacking gap integrity.

If he were to be cut, like it seems he will be I don't think he'd be a terrible addition. It would allow us to be at least 3 deep at DT with all be decent starters. We would be able to re-do his deal if he were released correct? The only downfall would be his injury stuff. He was playing out of position recently for the Jets. The draft isn't deep in DT's and we can't count on someone falling to us in the 2nd or 3rd, like safety last year.
There are other guys out there though.

Gantt suggest's we'll make a play for him next week, and that we're switching to a more pure form of the Tampa 2 D. per several players
