Does Lucas have such a clause in his contract...that he can veto? I've heard of it in the NBA...but do NFL players (well, their agents) have that kind of power to garner such a contract?

What about Peppers...does his contract allow him to "veto" a trade if it's not to one of the four teams he wants?

Peppers won't even sign an offer sheet for us to match / receive compensation from if it's from a team he won't play for, so that won't come up.

Right now, Peppers is shopping himself, basically. We're not shopping him.

The worse thing that can happen with Peppers is that he'll hold out.

Ken Lucas, "My career is spiraling downhill so a trade to the Lions makes sense." :reb:

the Panthers screwed up here..Now everybody knows they are trying to trade Lucas....and it will end up just like Deshaun Foster last year...nobody wanted to trade for him, so they sit back and wait until he is released, then pick him up for nothing...same thing is going to happen here

the team had it be known that Jenkins was on the market, and he went. I don't know what value Lucas has, but if we can get something, sure, why not.

as for how he can veto a trade? He could refuse to sign a new deal. No one's going to trade for him on a one year deal.

I know its a buisness but anyone else feel this is a little messed up? He didn't have the best year last year but he outplayed Marshall. Assuming we don't get anything for him we're gonna cut him. After everything that went down last year with him getting sucker punched and the way he handled everything seems like the type of guy you'd want around aside from the fact its not an addition by subtraction type of thing. What is our plan with out him? Marshall who had a down year, Gamble, CJ Wilson and who? Dre Bly? Dante Wesley?
