the defense won games for the team when the offense was sucking ass remember?

It ended up the other way around but don't forget about the first half of the season.

That was definitely true in Oakland.

Something's going on, though Gantt isn't sure what. Gantt posted this to his blog at 2:56 in the morning:

Edit: Doh! He put it into an article this morning: http://www.heraldonline.com/247/story/1086528.html. Not a whole lot more info., but it's something.

Don't get me all excited!! I'm giddy over the prospect that Turdgovac MAY not be back!

Why? It will be the same defense as long as Fox is here.

I'm ambivalent as to whether it does or doesn't happen, honestly. I defended him in the past and felt right to do so, but I wouldn't have a problem with change and he has fallen a bit in my eyes recently.

I wouldn't fire him for being 18th in the league this year. I think he's got a great pedigree and background. If we can do better, we should, though. I don't think we should just do it to do it, or do it to elevate Tim Lewis if he's not the best available. Not unlike our other decisions in coaching or personnel, once a choice is made I don't find a lot of reason to look back and second guess, but flubbing the new choice would cause a lot of doubt.

I also have no problem with the scheme one way or another, but then again I don't believe we're "holding anyone back".

Not really. Our d was a little different when JDR was dc. It went downhill somewhat when he left and Trgo took over. THe team has had it's ups and downs. Nothing consistant.

Gantt should just stop trying to cover this team. He is a moron.
