You have a few "I" can catch? You assume I'm willing to try to catch them. I think I'll let those fall incomplete, even if I'm the DB.

Last minute comebacks are only necessary if you didn't put the game away beforehand. Jake's last second touchdown pass against San Diego was his only one of the game.

I am not saying he did not suck royally in the playoff game but he has also done some good things for us too. He has a lot of game winning drives and comebacks. If we could get a definite upgrade on him I would be all for because he is as inconsistent as any starting QB in the league. Dropping him and signing a scrub or drafting a rookie in the second round, or later, to start would mean giving up on next season.

I would not be opposed to tagging Peppers and then working out a deal to let him go in exchange for either a solid QB or a high draft pick that nets a possible franchise QB. QBs are at such a premium though it is unlikely to happen. Even a team like the Bungles will want a lot for a guy like Palmer.

Sometimes you can see a guy coming available and try to get him like the Saints did with Drew Brees a couple of years ago but barring something like that there are not a lot of options.

Nobody cares. Why do you continue to share your opinion when people constantly make fun of how stupid you are and all the many times you've been laughably wrong? Obviously I know what it's like to have people complain about me being a jerk, but I don't turn around and expect those same people to say what a great guy I am. Why would you keep asking people who think you're a moron to agree with anything you have to say?

The only problem with the high draft pick scenario is Hurney/Fox are intractably fatheaded about not drafting a QB. (Except for the occasional late round camp fodder, of course) They say it is because a QB takes too long to develop so, they prefer to allow other teams to develop them and pick them up via FA (a la Delhomme) or pick them late in the draft. The big, freaking hole in that strategy is that any QB worth a damn will not make it to FA or will be drafted early. Who knows? Maybe they'll hit on a guy everyone overlooks (Brady), but in order to develop a guy like that you need a damn QB coach.

I used to agree with this stance but after seeing Big Ben, Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco do so well as rookies I am not sure that a rookie QB can not do well right away. We do not have a first round pick so it does not really matter anyway unless we do some kind of trade.

I would really, really, really prefer to not do something like that, and even if you do you could end up with a very, very talented player who can't seem to put it all together like Leinart that makes the trade iffy. But you're right that quarterbacks are a fairly precious commodity and that getting a significant upgrade would cost significant resources.
