There won't be a real GM in Cleveland. They're giving Mangini the keys to the entire organization.

Why would they be expected to return if they don't have a contract?

teams traditionally update contracts every year. Fox has autonomy over his coaches.

Interesting to see McDaniels leave. Nolan is a good choice behind him, and it'll be interesting to see the last big of talent on defense being 3-4.

Interesting that Bellichick almost continually hires from within despite eventually depleting talent on staff (and having to, for instance, pull a guy out of scouting to coach). He got Capers, who some felt was a potential replacement if Bellichick was suspended, but I don't know that I remember him pulling much else from outside.

Surprised that Ryan went with Mangini, not because it's not a good fit, but because the job probably would stay open and his brother seems to be frontrunner for the Jets job.

Sad to see Dungy go. Glad it makes another team worse, but Dungy was a class act. It was tough facing him twice a year, and he definitely classed that organization up, as he did the Colts (playoffs??? you wanna talk about playoffs???). Most people forget he did interview here, and that was probably just a favor. One of the best, though.

we never had to face him twice a year. by the time they re-aligned the divisions, Gruden was in Tampa.

they hired him fairly fast, if I remember right, and I think they had a lot of staff on hand before they hired Henning.
