Took me a little longer than expected, but I just ordered this badboy today. My XTi was on it's last legs after a drop in Alaska. I'll still hold onto it as a backup. Also wanted to upgrade to better high ISO performance and a faster FPS. Briefly considered the 5d, but really just can't afford to take that step - particularly since I'm not making any money with my photos.

yeah, it's out for delivery now, wanted to have it for Christmas.

Been thinking of upgrading for a while. The main things I'm looking forward to are better low light performance (less noise) and the faster fps (it'll shoot 6.5 fps over just 3 on my Rebel). Live View will be interesting to play with, but I'm not counting on any real functionalilty out of it, we'll see.

I dropped my rebel in Alaska (onto soft ground) and it's working fine (only thing that was damaged is the CF card eject button so you have to reach in and pull the card out), but I'm a little concerned that it might decide to quit on me. I just felt better replacing it, and the price was right on the 40d. I considered the 50d, but it's upgrades were in areas I didn't really care about (MP, enhanced Live View, etc), and I actually read it's a little worse in the noise department and has slower fps.

If this photography thing isn't bringing in $$, I hope it's at least getting you laid.

yeah - got it in just before Christmas. Been shooting a lot, but havent really had time to process anything yet. really love how well it focuses in low light and the 6fps, although havent really had a chance to put it in practical use yet.

    as you should be
