I think those plays are why he's considered. But in the end he had four or five very good years, and six horrible years at the end of his career. I guess the fact that the Raiders won a Super Bowl the year after they got rid of him, with a guy who had been cut twice, is what makes me vote no on him. The Raiders were a great team with a very good QB, not the other way around.

I got to give DT as having a higher impact than Greene. Derrick still had gas in the tank when he died.

And the only way Tasker should get in is if he buys a ticket. Cmon. A gunner?

Hayes may still get in, it takes a while for DBs. A bit of a short career though, which may work against him as well as the stickum. But not before Woodson, who in my mind was just as fine a defender as Bruce Smith, if not more so.

DT was more of a complete LB but KG was a beast for a longer period of time-i liked him here but he was also an impct plyer ay Pitt

i didnt finish my thought on the situational players i should have added that they werent likely to get in-tasker was an impact player-yes it was ST(and that is why he'll never get in)-but a rare player (non return guy)that had to be planned for on ST-and also for a long period of time

woodson was an excellent db-but no smith was one of the best DE to ever play the game

Hard to choose from this list. Dawson should be in, but so should the ones on your list. I'll take your list.

Paul Tagliabue is going to get one of the five modern era spots.

    Here's how I think it'll pan out:

    Modern:
    1. Bruce Smith
    2. Shannon Sharpe
    3. Rod Woodson
    4. Cris Carter
    5. Paul Tagliabue

    Old:
    1. Bob Kuechenberg
    2. Ralph Wilson

Rod Smith of the Broncos is a nominee? I assume you're referring to Woodson...I further assume you're NOT referring to HEHATEME.

People thought Tags was a shoe-in his first two years, and was one of the first five eliminated each time. It may be a while for him. :twocents:.

Although they are both "old", neither are senior committee nominees, and are competing with the other 15 modern era finalists for the 5 final spots.

Cowboys WR Bullet Bob Hayes and Falcons/Eagles DE Claude Humpheries are the two senior nominees.

Bob Hayes, Bruce Smith, Derrick Thomas, Ralph Wilson, and Rod Woodson. edit. And McDaniel.

King gave his annual "odds" column last week, and couldn't have been farther off. Goes to show there are no influential members there. He didn't give McDaniel or Grimm great shots, and they both got to the final 10, with McDaniel winning.

Both Sharpe and Carter made the second round, but probably canceled each other out. Wilson was the suprise choice, probably wanted to get him in before he died.
