I'd been thinking about it. It's possible that his arm could be problematic without being injured. But since I don't know, it's hard to say. There's nothing that would suggest causation of anything physical or mechanical, and it's not like the rush was there to the point that would cause anything.

But, since no one's ever really gone through this situation before, plus I have no idea what rest or precaution they took over the bye, and no idea what Jake was feeling Sunday, it'd be hard to say what if any factor that made.

Legs with an ACL, far as I know, don't have a lag time after a rested bye week. Thre's a lot to be said for the rehab process' toll taken on a body part that undergoes reconstructive surgery, in which ACL rehabbers generally feel a lot more fresh in the second year, but I don't know of any specific failings that the ACL patients have had over a rested bye week or anything like that. And, of course, there really isn't anything analogous to this surgery.

Jake wasn't on the postgame video from nfl.com so I don't know if he talked to press at all.

as for Baldinger and Billick - I dunno. I don't mind either - Billick gives good insight, Baldinger fills time well with things that most people should really know and/or things that he enjoys stating the obvious on. it seems like that trio has no timing together a half year in and I think these two color commentators together is a bit much. Either separately with a better play by play guy would suck less. I don't care, fwiw, whether commentators are our homers.

If his arm was hurting I doubt that he would have opted for so many deep balls.

Aso was on him about half the time, the other raiders corners stepped it up, too.

his deep balls have been solid this year. These yesterday were all over the place and generally died a little early.

it was like having Grossman at QB. I don't think Jake ever shies from the deep ball when it's called, and he's the type to want to play through something. Given that this is a prety unique situation, I'm not after excusing such an awful day using anything, but it could've been a factor. Given the last year laying out as it did it's not something I'd just dismiss with a one-liner.

He did...and he accepted blame, stating he was sick over his performance, and further stating that "It was all me."

There was no mention of any injury or problem with his arm during the post game interview, that was aired over one of the Charlotte TV stations.

    Fox..FWIW

Q: How do you feel about winning despite Jake playing poorly?

A: Being from a defensive background, I don’t think there’s anything ugly about a 17-6 win. Again, would I have liked our offense to have played better? Yes, but I thought we ran the ball very effectively. DeAngelo Williams had arguably one of his best games here as a Panther. He made a lot of runs on his own, a lot of runs where he made people miss. To rush for that many yards, I’m still happy with (it).

There’s no question we could’ve played better in the pass game. It wasn’t just Jake. There were a couple of drops, a couple of better routes (that could’ve been run), a couple of better protections. Jake is a standup guy. He’s going to take the responsibility. I think his teammates appreciate that about him, and I know I do as the head coach.

That’s just an area we’ve got to work (on). These games all have different personalities. We had a pretty good idea what kind of game that was going to be, that they were going to challenge us to throw. We’ve had games like that in the past here, and we’ve gotten better for it. I thought it was an outstanding job by our special teams and our defense. When you can win two out of three (areas), usually you win the game, and we did.

Q: Were your offensive struggles more a result of their play on defense, or your play?

A: It was a combination of both. I don’t want to take anything away from them. I thought they covered us down pretty good and make it tough for us to run. But we were still able to run. I think one of the real bright spots was that. Most of that was against eight-man fronts – aggressive eight man fronts. I thought that was a real bright side. We just needed to be able to take more advantage of it in the pass game.

Q: Was anything bothering Jake physically, like his arm?

    A: No, no, no.

Q: Besides what the Raiders were doing, do you basically chalk it up as just a bad day for Jake?

A: No, I already said what I thought it was. I thought it was a real good day in our run game, a not-so-good day in our pass game, and it’s not just Jake.

I think we all know Jake is liable to put down some pretty terrible games. It comes with the territory. 4 ints in one game is pretty bad. We managed to win which is great, and I'm hoping nothing is wrong with the elbow because we are going to rise and fall with Jake. We have to live with it and pray it doesn't become a trend.

Without reading a single post in this thread, I just finshed watching my DVR of the game, and that was the worst game by Jake I have ever seen. Not many that bad by any quarterback including David Carr. If he sucks that bad this coming week we may lose to the Lions. WTF??
