    Special....until I recall how they choked after that blocked punt against Minnesota...and the total disintegration against Tampa Bay. Then I get a dose of reality.

    it's its own season. 2003 we could do one thing right offensively. 2005 we could do one thing right offensively.

    Don't look now but our offense ranks better than those. Not as good rushing as 03, but close, and with a lot better pass offense.

    Oddly enough, this is almost as good a defense as those playoff teams but it ranks with the 04 and 07 ones. It can't be as insignificant as "we're getting better field position, so the defense has to take on more yards". The pass rush, and the need to blitz more, makes things a little more hit or miss, I guess, but does anyone really think our defense has 17 better in front of it?

    That zona game hurt the D ranking, whereas Tampa got to play Brad Fucking Johnson.

    Defensively, I like this team almost as much as 05. The quality of opponents, overall, have been stronger, IMO.
