Schefter and Wyche stir the pot on Smith

Adam Schefter complains that Steve Smith "hasn't been heard from" on the Lucas matter since returning to the team this week. Steve Wyche agrees with Schefter that Smith owes it to the fans and the team to apologize publicly so all this can be put behind them.



If Smitty's teammates are cool with him (as they appear to be), he doesn't owe anybody anything. Ridiculous pot-stirring by a couple of NFLN talking heads.

 

He apologized to his teammates, which is enough, but I really don't like the attitude he displayed on his blog.

 

Didn't he already make a public apology? I'm damn sure I saw the footage of it.

 

Just curious...what did you see that you didn't like? He sounds a bit pissed at the media for not letting the story die, but other than that, it sounded okay to me.

Steve is always going to have a chip on his shoulder. Sometimes it makes him act like an asshole, but it is also what drives him to be great.

He doesn't sound like he's learned anything at all from the situation. He clearly sees himself as a victim, not as someone justly punished for misdeeds. Now I'm not a big believer in people changing their spots anyway, so I can't say that I'm surprised, but for him to be this cavalier this soon is worrisome.

 

He's an ass. Deep down, he's got some good traits, but he's an angry dick.

As long as he comes back , catches balls, and doesn't punch anyone, we'll be aight.
