[reed] the addition of Parker almost certainly means that Carolina will release the troubled Muhsin Muhammad [reed]

I can't say it doesn't make sense. It's not like I expect to have a stud potential #6 available to work for us.

Currently on the roster, should be playing week 3:

    Smitty
    Moose
    Hackett / Jarret
    Robinson

Currently on the roster, should be playing week 1 and 2:

    Moose
    Jarrett
Hackett - I expect him to be a go.

So we have this weird void for 2 weeks for receivers 4 and 5. I don't expect to find a high caliber player to fill that void.

Yep, it looks like Colclough is our returner until Robinson gets healthy.

If somebody better is available after next cuts, drop him and move forward. I doubt anybody worth half a shit wold want to come here for the chance to play two games unless they kick Hackett to the curb.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised about that. I gotta think he's talented, and he's gotten it done when he's been healthy.

But he's gone from 'guaranteed' a starting spot by the media, to losing the spot to the 'lost a step' Moose, to losing the 3rd spot to 'bust of a second rounder' in Jarrett.

Pretty big fall. Hopefully, he's available and productive weeks 1 and 2.

Gantt makes reference to Parker returning punts in practice and being able to do so in games, FWIW. So we'll see how that works. I don't have any idea if Colclough has fielded a punt in practice.

Interesting ( kinda ) blurb from Reed:

--Samie Parker, who will wear No. 12 (It's unclear if that's because he actually looks like he's 12 years old), is expected to play Thursday night against Pittsburgh. Although he's never returned punts in the NFL, Parker said he's capable of handling that job if called upon.
"I did it all of the time in practice, but unfortunately I had guys in front of me everywhere I've been," Parker said. "In Kansas City I Dante Hall there for three years and then they brought Drummond in my last year. We had guys that were getting the Pro Bowl in front of me, so I haven't had the opportunity to showcase what I can do... But I feel like I can handle the job."
