    No, I didn't leave out a "p".

Anybody tried lawn striping with their own lawn, you know, like you see on athletic fields?

takes a special lawnmower attachment to get that effect.

google it... but all you need is a heavy door mat attached to the back of the mower to drag behind

I know, I've looked into it. I just have a push mower and the attachment I've seen is like $100+ bucks. I was just wondering if it was worth it. I figured one could just get a piece of PCV pipe, fill it up with dirt/cement, figure a way to attach to mower and get the same result. Also, I've read where it doesn't work as well with warmer climate grasses. Anybody tried it?

How do you do it with the thing attached? You mow one way with it, take it off, then mow the other way?

Well. It seems you might not know the width by judging it that way and you would miss spots. I understand that would be more efficient.

I was thinking you leave the device on the whole time with no need to take it on and off. THAT would be annoying as hell. The device just makes the grass lay down in each direction.

Hence the problem with warm climates. I think I maybe be on the border. Everyone around here uses predominately fescue.

Some of those baseball fields look amazing, hence where this idea came from.
