    my take

99.9 fm the fan has been a breath of fresh air in the Raleigh area. I am constantly switching between 99.9 & 850 during my driving time in the area. and 620 am when the local guys are on. it's good to have choices in the market.

as for Mr Jones' dislike of the Wolfpack, I know we're down but hey it is a Raleigh-based market. where's the love?
example: the other day, Bomani was reflecting on summer league basketball games he had watched and was berating Brandon Costner for not "bringing his game" at the game he had watched and pretty much wrote off Brandon for any future success with the Pack. based on summer league play????????????????

That media market is not solely Raleigh. It is listed as "Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville," if you wish to be technical.

Bottom line--the station has no incentive to play favorites" based on location. You want good talk about your team--they need to produce. When they do well, they get slapped on the back. When they do poorly, they get slapped in the head.

    Bye - bye Bomani

thank goodness...............Bomani's temporary fill-in period for DG is over as of today. David Glenn (who takes a pretty fair stance across the board with all the teams of the "Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville" market) returns to the drive-home afternoon time slot. good deal.

    You sure it's not Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hole ??

In the thread title, it's the "Triangle" area, OK ? ............

    This show sucks!...

....and so does all the other locals on 850. And, before you jump my ass Solarte, understand this....I BEG for sports talk radio...but 850 ain't gettin it done. Adam goes to the morning and his show went south as well. Chris....well, sports folks don't need him to read the N&O to us, David Glenn, who is a very smart man, and entertaining can't hold an audience but so long with recruiting stuff. Jim Rome is the only marketable show on 850. I hope that changes.

    Exactly!!!

...850 the buzz should get slapped back to reality! Adam Gold had a good 3 pm show, your show I did listen to, and sometimes I questioned your show content, but when you did leave, I missed your style of entertainment your time slot was void of any fun, or real substance. I know you left for greener grass, and I can't blame you there. I also can appreciate your fondness to the guys over at 850, but, as you know, nothing personal, that station is going in the wrong direction. No matter how hard Adam tries, or all the rest for that matter, if your not putting a GOOD product on the market, you lose, and someone else will pick up where F'up.

I was at one of those NC Pro Am games, and Brandon looked very listless and disinterested. We were giving crap to the two State fans who were sitting in front of us, like, "THAT'S what you're bringing back this year?!?"

I think 99.9 is more equipped to give 850 problems than Triangle Sports Talk was. Those of you in the Charlotte market may have heard Packman have Taylor Zarzour on as a co-host on occasion; Triangle Sports Talk was his baby. I think the story was his wealthy daddy in Alabama bought him a radio station, but 1090's signal was utter crap. You could only hear it really well a little east of Raleigh. Then they bought 1490AM, a Durham based station, but still with a weak Raleigh signal. After sundown, you couldn't hear a thing, and I think this proved to be their undoing. 99.9 has a nice strong signal, and a pretty good lineup.
