It's slow, I don't mind sparing a couple of minutes for Short Bus and Mort to entertain me.

eh... that may be taking it a bit too far. If one of the game's all time best QBs calls you about a job, you at least listen to him.

12 mil hit on the salary cap for a QB who is in way into the sunset of his career, and if GB won't release him outright, we'd have to trade a 2nd round pick, which would be our first pick probably in 2009. Too expensive for a backup and I gotta wonder if, at this point in his career, can he still produce enough magic to be a starter?
Don't get me wrong...it'd be fun to find out, but I don't think we mortgage the future for a roll of the dice. We need to find the future Brett Favre somewhere in a young guy...just my .02.

Jake is our starter. We are happy with him. There is no need for a guy like Favre on the Panthers. If he wants to be on our short list should Jake's elbow fail then fine but the circus it would create to bring him in for training camp would be too much distraction.

thin is I agree with you but like I said, you'd be stupid as a team not to stop for a second and listen. Maybe he is willing to be a backup and take less money. Doubtful, but you never know without listening to what the guy has to say. That's why if a guy like that calls you at least talk to him.

If we're going to roll the dice, let's look for a young talent that can be the future QB for the Panthers. Is Matt Moore the guy?!? Still questionable, although he looked pretty goodlast year. Basanez?? Who knows??

Who is the future franchise QB here?
