When do people compare anyone to someone who sucks?

Yeah, but do you honestly expect him to suck? I don't.

I don't agree with the pick, but I don't expect him to suck.

i guess my point is that nobody is comparing him to mediocre backs, backs that had short careers, 3rd-down/situational backs, change-of-pace backs or successful-but-not-stellar backs.

emmitt, LT, curtis? those are 10-year studs who get 20+ carries, catch 5 balls and score twice a game.

I think in the draft comparisons for USC Steve Smith they compared him to Colbert.

Look at who Mendenhall is being compared to. That's just what people do when making comparisons on draft prospects. Meanwhile I have read multiple sites saying that Stewart might fit best as a 3rd down back or a part-timer because of durability issues. Doesn't mean that either side is necessarily right, and in fact, I don't know that it means anything at all.

And for the record, no, I don't think that Stewart sucks. I'm very skeptical about him being worth the #13 pick (not just for us but for anyone), but he was definitely a first round talent.
