I would much rather we give up on Johnson than give up on DW.

Adding another back is not a bad thing but doing it in the first round cost us the opportunity to add a quality OL or DL. In response to that we way overpaid to get an OL.

Absolutely agree. What a bunch of whining pussies you guys are.
You need 2 backs in the NFL. Can't wait to see you stumbling over yourselves when Stewart starts eating up big yards behind our revamped O-line. You can't solve all of the teams needs in one draft. Deal with it. The running game just got a LOT better.

    We HAD two backs, asshole.

Dont forget, to be successful in the NFL, you also need:

    A FUCKING DEFENSIVE LINE!

Moron, this has been explained repeatedly but I will try once more for the benefit of the exceptionally retarded such as yourself. No one has a problem with us adding another running back. In fact, most of us wanted and expected that to happen. What we didn't want or expect is for it to happen in the first round. When you draft the same position repeatedly in the first round, whether it's us with running backs or Matt Millen with wide receivers, it means you're failing.

Maybe Stewart will be great. In fact, he better be. But again, even if Stewart does end up being great, it marginalizes DeAngelo. We'll never know if he was capable of being the primary ball-carrier because we never gave him the chance. We gave up on him and made him a wasted pick by choosing Stewart at #13, instead of letting DW be the starter, spending #13 on some other position, and then grabbing a solid running back to back up Williams in the second or third round. Oh, and if we'd done that we would still have our first round choice in 2009.

I think the folks trotting out the consipiracy theories, that Fox and Hurney are in a "win now, and fuck the future" mode, are most probably closest to the truth.

I doubt anyone on the board will disagree that the running game got much improved today. Most of us have a pretty valid argument on ways it could have been done in a much cheaper fashion, but I would say this way gives us the maximum chance for this year.

You do realize the pick was like an hour ago right? I think a 24 hour rant license should be ok, especially given how badly the pooch was screwed.
