In round one, Detroit reaches for Cherilus, Atlanta reaches for Sam Baker, Houston reaches for Duane Brown, and we pay a steep price to get Otah.

Theme of the day, as far as I'm concerned....

If we had not made the trade for Otah and kept our 2nd........with all those Tackles gone........we wouldnt have come away with a "starting caliber" T in this draft!!

I got no problem trading away our 2nd & 4th (we got 2 3rds member?)
That #1 we gave up tho, could come back to haunt us!!

overall we paid a price but we got excellent players!!!:earmuffs:

See, I have a problem with the SECOND, not the first. A first is fair. Phili loses their first this year. We have two this year, they get two next. The extra 2nd, IMO, was WAAAY too steep. A third? Yes. A 5th, and a 6th? Sure. A fucking SECOND AND A FOURTH!?

    Thats rape.

Your next pick is the given. That's what you are switching. Nobody is going to trade move all the way down to the third or fourth just for next year's first.

Its the next pick you are asking them to go down to. 24 spots. That's at least a first, and fourth was thrown in to make the value on the chart look right. We'd probably have to trade the rest of our fucking draft to keep our second.

Or two thirds. Which is better. Or a third and a few others. Which is better.

I'd rather have not traded up, cause I think we need some players. I was responding to the fact that you thought giving up the second was the unreasoable part. My point is giving up the second is a given. We don't have enough of anything else to trade, unless it's a player.

#18 is worth 800 points. Our second is worth 430. Both our thirds would have been enough if packaged with the second. Maybe we led with that. I'd probably hate that just as much, cause we need those picks right now to act as warm bodies on the D line.

I get your point, but wasnt it the 19th? Either way, youre right, a trade is a trade, and we made that choice. We got who we got, and I hope theyre staples in our offense for the next decade.

Of all the trade ups to get OT we got the best one. I'm hoping Otah can become a bulldozing OT that Stewart and DeAngelo can follow. I am guessing Gross is allowed to walk next year and we get a

We could have drafted any OT we wanted outside of Clady and Long with the #13 pick. Instead we reach for an injured running back and then way overpay for a guy who can not play LT.

I dont see how Otah changes a thing with Gross. He's a good OT, and those are hard to come by. We'll simply have to pay up.
