    I'm dying to get him to some water. He eyes the bathtub like he's ready to jump in. We are taking him to the vet on Sat. to get him checked out and to get him on heartworm prevention. I won't feel comfortable having him around water until then.

    No, we didn't go. After the Petsmart trip, I think it's probably a good thing. He needs to get used to being out and about first.

    Yeah he needs to be on that for sure and before he can play with george too. what vet are you going to?

    My labs first swim was the lake at UNC Charlotte. Of course everything went well until the dog started chasing the geese and the campus police showed up.

    The easiest way to get the dog in the water the first time is to just throw him/her into the lake. It's amazing how fast the instincts kick in. After that, you won't be able to keep the dog out of the water.

    I agree, and even my REAL fence didn't keep a pitbull out!
    Damn pitbulls they should all be killed.
