Nah, if I hide it, he'll find it. If I put it in plain sight, he'll never even notice it.

Then just tell him there is a fence and don't actually get one.

I have one for our 2 dogs. They are never out alone when we aren't home, so the other animals intruding point is moot.

did not install myself, as we had I.F. do it. They had a machine that cuts into the ground, and lays the wire at the same time. They took our wire behind our tree line in the back, so the dogs can get into the trees to do their business.

That thing I.F. has makes the installation rather simple--he circled the area we wanted marked off in about 30 minutes.

Training the dogs where the fence starts is the hardest part. Not the actual teaching, but the hurt you feel yourself when your pooch gets corrected by it the first time. Luckily, my dogs learned after like 3 corrections that it's safe to walk here, but no further.

    Good luck.

Thanks Solarte! I know what you mean about it being hard when they reach the boundary. The thought of hurting this guy makes me sad. [IMG]

yeah...but hopefully he learns quickly. The big thing is to keep the flags (the little boundary flags they give you) up until the dog is comfortable with where the line actually it.
