    I was an enormous Black Oak Arkansas fan as a kid. In around 1978, I started playing the standup mandolin. If you played the standup mandolin in 78, you probably listened to Talas and, subsequently, to Mr. Bigg and Niacin.

    Natural progression from Zepp, Kiss, Queen, and Black Sabbath to this...sure as hell wouldn't have led me to John Mayer or the Avett Friends.

    Got to remember classic Queen....also a huge fan of early Metallica and Megadeth....add the melody of queen to those 2 and you're almost there.

    I think you need to listen to the first song again...loud.
