Same situation, the guy setting the pick runs over and knocks the defender down - does the ref call the foul? Yes.

No call was the wrong call.

That's crazy. If the alleged foul had a bearing on the outcome of the game, you'd have a point. But it had absolutely no impact.

let me ask you this. You remember the Georgetown-Nova earlier this year game where Jonathan Wallace got "fouled" deep in his own backcourt with less than a second left in a tie game. Technically, it was a foul, even though the Nova defender barely made contact with Wallace. If it had happened at almost any other time in the game, the ref should make that call. But you can't make the call if it's gonna decide the game, especially considering that Wallace wasn't even going to get a shot off. And the Georgia defender running into that pick certainly didn't prevent Kentucky from getting a shot off.

Basically, what you're saying is there's no place in the game for no-calls. None whatsoever.

Didn't impact the result? Have you seen the Laetner play? How about Bryce Drew? Danny Ainge? There are tons of instances where a team scored from underneath their basket with 1 second or so left.

yes, I've seen the Laettner, Drew and Ainge plays. Did you bother watching the action after the alleged foul? Kentucky did inbound the ball, three quarters of the court, and threw it out of bounds. They still had their chance for their last-second Laettner-like heroics and didn't convert.

and let's be honest. If that type of call goes against the Tarheels and they lose a game because of it, you'd be screaming bloody murder. I know I would if it ever happened to my team. (Insert Bona's joke here)

OK then. you'd be the only Tarheel in the universe would wouldn't.

did Kentucky get to inbound the ball? If you answer yes, then it was a good no call.
