Forget about who is starting then...having Smitty, Moose, and Hackett line up at the same time would be a formidable combination, no matter how you slice it. Plus, we would have some decent depth at WR for a change. And if either Jarrett or Robinson can prove to be effective in 4WR sets, all the better.

I'm just sick of having to rely on one guy to make the offense go every week...it's long past time to get Steve Smith some competent help, and Moose is a short term fix, at best.

Throw Rosario and DW in there, that's some people to cover. If we get a running game the offense could be pretty good even without Hackett but I hope we can get him.

I don't think anyone is saying, "don't sign him, he sucks."

I'm just saying don't expect all world from him. Don't expect him to be more than he was in Seattle, cause he had some shots to be more.

Y2 has some sort of anti Moose bias, but chip is right. Moose's worst year (with a bad QB) is this guy's best.

But yeah. I'll go to war with him.

It doesnt matter who they line up at the WR position, if the O-line isnt any better this year.

Scratch o-line for QB and you're onto something there.

But agree on Hackett's best year is Moose's worst - and Hackett had the WCO and Hasselbeck feeding him.

I think that if Hackett ever stayed healthy he'd kick some ass. If we get him cheap, he's worth it. If he beats Moose and starts, awesome. And then when he goes down, we got Moose and that's STILL an improvement from 2007.

Expecting Hackett to stay healthy is as dumb expecting Morgan or Tuke to stay healthy. Plus, Everyone thought that when Foster stayed healthy he'd be all-world. Nope.

I like the signing b/c if he can be had for cheap, he absolutely has the potential to be a great pickup. And on the cheap, that's low risk. I feel the same about moose, except Moose isn't as dynamic nor as likely to hang in the tub for 8 weeks.

Yeah, I get that, and I don't expect all world. But, look at what the guy did in just 6 games last year...he had more production than either Carter or Colbert could manage with a whole season, and 10 times as many opportunities. Hackett would be a huge upgrade over what we just lost, even if he does miss a few games.
