he's got game, I just think we still need a legit #2...

60 catches would be the steal of free agency

Not really, the Bears have been woeful at QB for several years.

Except for the rare flashes of good play, the Bears basically don't have a QB.

The QBs in Chicago cannot be favorably compared to Jake, except maybe by their mothers.

Seriously? You don't think Hackett can beat out Moose? I have to disagree with you here. The injury thing is overblown too...the guy only missed a total of 5 games in 05 and 06 combined...that's about the same amount of time that Smitty has missed in the last couple of years. Plus, he's only 26yrs old, so he's just now entering his prime. His best football is probably still ahead of him.

I don't think he'd start over Moose either. He'd be a nice slot receiver. But Moose brings more to the table.

    Devil's advocate, here. What?

He can probably run block better. But Hackett has had some very big games. So...what more does he bring to the table?

He's been a third all his life. A good 3rd, but still a third. And he's missed more than 5 games. Try 10 just last year. Recievers get injured, Smitty, Moose, and this guy.

1394 and 9 TDs in 3 years. That's what we would be buying. Which is good, but a proven starter either. If we get more that will be gravy.

He missed 10 games in 2007. That's a bit of a big deal.

And, if he were flawless, he would've signed long ago. He's not, he's inconsistent and missed a season's worth of games in 3 years. We just got rid of a guy who made a Pro Bowl for similar things.
