we won't go get a bigtime receiver. We were, in all realistic terms, lucky to be able to develop a player into one after having one on staff. As for that posession guy, that's what Muhsin is.

Hackett is a welcome addition, but he's not consistent enough, healthy enough, or useful enough on 1st/2nd down compared to MM. If he came, he wouldn't start IMO. He'd come off the bench situationally, and be used in the slot on 3rd down. He could have as many receptions as MM, and might make more plays. But I don't see him starting, and I don't know if we can expect him to be "the starter" all year. He's a good receiver, but he has never been a #1, he hasn't started significant time, and he played in a spread offense for a reason.

He averaged over 14 yards per catch the last two years with the Bears and over 15 the last two years he was here. That works out to about 57 catches. Colbert caught 32 last year. Carter caught 38 so between the two of them they put up 70 catches....

Lol, flat out, Moose is an upgrade, no matter how you look at it.

He helps our run. He'll move the chains. He'll get first downs.

so you're saying the 40 catches and 570 yards he had last year was what?

i'm just saying... you guys are in for a pretty rude awakening if you think Moose is going to give the Panthers 60 catches & 800 yards this year

If Jake stays healthy I think that is a reasonable expectation. The Bears were awful on offense last year and had terrible QB play.

800 yards might be reaching. BUt I could very realistically see 60/600-700 range, with 4 to 6 TDs. Were a running team, and Smitty will get tons of looks, and if Hackett does sign with us, Moose will ee even less, whether hes a number 2 or 3.

Im curious if its just that you think hes old and washed up, or what, y2. Im not slamming you , either. Im just wondering why you truly feel he wont contribute much. Especially with Jake throwing to him. Jake loves this 87 guy, you know.
