I hope he does put up great numbers....but I'm afraid if Moose IS our #2....we'll regret not spending money on a #2 with some speed, and Smitty's numbers will suffer.

I don't think there's really anything that we can do, speed or not speed, that will keep teams from focusing on Smith. It doesn't mean we'll always have man elsewhere, which is a very common misconception.

And, at any rate, if it's just speed, we have Ryne Robinson to sub in. Speed with Carter didn't matter, did it?

I disagree. Moose is still a good posession receiver. With the defense focused on Smith he will enough. He will fight for the ball and hang on to it better than Colbert or Carter.

Maybe I should rephrase. I think Moose commands some respect from the DBs....but not enough to really give Smitty much help. I'd like to see us bring in someone who forces defenses to make a decision. I believe we need either a really solid posession reciever (Proehl), or a big time reciever, to make D's pay for getting it wrong and give Smitty some more space.

I predict Moose to put up at least 800 yards and 5 touchdowns. DW to rush for 1300 yards and 10 touchdowns and Smith to rack up 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns. King will be the third leading receiver and catch 400 yards and 6 TDs.
