The only big named FA we ever signed that amounted to anything was Stephen Davis and if his injuries had came a year sooner then we would be bitching about him too....Key was nice.....but short lived.

most of our big name signings have been the most costly mistakes we make. I'd prefer to find talent, than attempt to sign it.....

Sam Mill's did not suck to bad, and Steve Beurelien was not bad, or Kevin Greene, John Kasay, Wesley Walls, Eric Davis, Michael Barrow, Brentson Buckner, Ricky Proehl, Ken Lucas, and oh yeah there is that Jake Delhome guy, but I guess you could say he was not a "big name" when we signed him. Now I agree that there is nothing in the way of free agency in the last couple of years that you can say was a "great" signing, but just wanted to point out that Stephen Davis was not the only impact player we ever signed.

Yeah, I was gonna say, I looked at him as more of a second tier guy when we picked him up. Had lost carries in DC iirc.

I'll give you Mill's, Davis, Walls and Greene and maybe Barrow's as big name signings that didn't bust.....but StevieB, Buckner, Proehl, Lucas and Delhomme were not coveted FAs.....that's what I'm referring to....not all FAs just the big named ones....

I stand corrected....on the first couple though.

He was a smart pickup. He only lost carries in DC cause Spurrier is a fucking moron that though the could pass on every down.

Agree totally, just don't recall him being though of as a top name FA at the time. Which is fine, we got great production for the price, that's the kind of guy I like.

To address the original post, no I'm not upset we're not throwing money around at the top guys. I wish we could have signed Sims, and that we wouldn't have found it necessary to trade Jenkins.
