Anyone remember that weird shit about Denny Green wanting him to add him to his staff a few years back?

I didn't mind Salisbury, back when I still liked sports and watched ESPN, but he did need a Shut The Fuck Up pill every once in a while.

 

He wasn't the worst guy they had, he was just up and down, one minute you're nodding your head because he calls bobby petrino a lemon headed coward terrorist pussy (thats not an exact quote) only to follow it up with some dumb statement about how insert shitty team here is still a contender.

 

It was to be the QB coach. He declined

 

I thought his remarks were telling in a lot of areas. One, his remark about not being a star as an ex-jock led to a ceiling no matter how hard he worked. That the networks prefer star power over substance every time. That's why there will continue to be a merry-go-round of Deion Sanders', Michael Irvin's, Emmitt Smith's, Shannon Sharpe's, etc....absolutely no substance and at times are painful to watch. But the networks believe it gives them instant ratings.

Lord, if NFL owners demanded their HC's to be ex-star players, what a sorry bunch that would be.

Wasn't Jeff George, the ultimate team cancer, brought in so Salisbury wouldn't play? He sucks. Fuck him.

Tim Legler and Greg Anthony were not superstars in the NBA. Darren Pang isn't an NHL legend. Tim McCarver was never confused with Johnny Bench behind the plate or at the bat.
