    CHARLOTTE -- Fullback Brad Hoover has re-signed for three more years with the Carolina Panthers, according to his agent Tim Irwin.

    “Brad Hoover has reached an agreement and he’s happy to stay at home," Irwin said late Thursday night.

    The deal will keep Hoover from becoming an unrestricted free agent.

    Hoove, who turns 32 later this year, has spent the last eight seasons with the Panthers and is still viewed as not only a solid fullback, but an outstanding special teams player.

    Terms of the deal were not available.

    Earlier in the day, the Panthers signed backup cornerback Dante Wesley to a two-year contract worth slightly more than $1 million. He's slated to be the team's No. 4 cornerback.

    Still no word on if the Panthers will be able to re-sign defensive end Mike Rucker.
