Watching some of the Combine today. With the TE's and OT's. Missed the OT part, but have been watching the TE's.
Dustin Keller has really stood out. In terms of speed (~4.55) and catching the ball he has been really impressive. Mayock really like him, has him 2nd behind John Carlson now.
Carlson rain fairly slow (4.9 or something close). Pretty disappointing.
Fred Davis didn't run, but did do the catching drills but did drop a few easy balls.
Jermichael Finley has also looked pretty good. 4.82 and looks fluid and catchs the ball well.
Kellen Davis has been pretty solid in the workouts as well. Nice athlete but they keep talking about how his production on the field just wasn't there.
Craig Stevens out of Cal is one of the better blockers, and actually ran one of the faster 40's.

I'm behind on the TE class right now. Don't leave out the details.

    Dustin Keller

So going back and looking at the combine while sipping on my martini I'll post some numbers as I go.
Keller was very impressive. Mayock broke down some film on him and he has the speed to get deep and has really good hands, catching everything away from his body. And he showed that in the drills here. Of all the drills the TE's ran he was:
    2nd in the 3 cone drill -6.88
    1st in vertical jump- 38inchs
    1st in broad jump - 10-11
    2nd in bench press- 26
6'2'' and 242 lbs - shortest TE one of the lightest
Not a good blocker, but shit he made himself a ton of money.

    Ohh yeah ran a 4.54

They kept saying he was the most complete TE here. Best blocker and receiver. Mayock had him ranked 1st like I said. He ran pretty bad.
He's 6'5 and 251 and ran a 4.96. Pretty bad. Mayock said he might move him down following that time, but he's still a solid complete TE. His other numbers weren't that great either.
    30 inch vertical.
He did catch pretty much everything though

Beast of a dude. 6'7. Ran a 4.68 which is pretty good for a dude his size. They said there was a buzz about him at the combine. Lots of teams like him. He didn't play a whole lot in college because of injuries and suprise surpise, he didn't finish the workout because of a hammy or something. So he didn't do anything catching wise.

Craig Stevens from Cal ran a 4.68 and had 27 bench press reps which was tops. Both Mayock and Herman Edwards said he was the best blocker of the group. He also looked good catching the ball.

Kellen Davis has intrigued me. They say he's a very tenacious blocker, he lifted well, he's got great size. Ran faster than I expected. Played some defense and came up with some sacks, so he's a guy who will help you out on ST.

Fred Davis looks good. No 40, but very good catching the ball. Comment he was a WR until Jarrett came out, that was interesting.

Yeah. Kellen Davis is intriguing. Didn't know about his blocking but he is an athletic dude. The conotation from Mayock during the senior bowl and combine was that he didn't like him too much. He kept saying he looked the part but didn't do much. That partly because he hasn't played the position for very long as he was a DE for a while.

Interesting Rucker didn't work out at all. Is he hurt? Looked like a 2nd rounder coming into the offseason and now seems to be slipping.
