Musa Smith would be OK, but I'd prefer Verron Haynes. Always liked him for some reason.:11GoPanthers:

I don't know how well either of them are going to do in the NFL. I saw both play against Mississippi State (Go to hell Ole Miss, Go to hell) and wasn't that impressed.

Forte had 47 yards on 14 attemptes for a 3.4 average. 39 of the 47 came on 1 play so other than that he had 8 yards on 13 attempts.

In the Liberty Bowl Smith had 119 yards on 35 carries for 3.4 per.

I know that MSU is an SEC team verses Tulane and UCF but they aren't what you would call a powerhouse. But they did hold McFadden to just 88 yards too.

Instead of investing a lot of money in a big back I would just as soon upgrade our fullback position. That way you could give a few carries to the fullback and let DW be the primary guy. Use the fullback in short yardage and goal line. We could even let Hoover be our "big back" and get a better lead blocker to play full time at fullback. Hoover is a pretty solid runner for a fullback.

    Trade Jenkins for Portis.

The Redskins are in "cap hell" at $21 million over.

Washington has a big need at DT right now.

Carolina needs a "red zone" runner. Clinton Portis was the NFL leader in % of TDs inside the three (71.4%). Portis was fourth in the NFL in rushing TDs in 2007.

Jenkins lives (and hides from the media) in Maryland.

Signing Lewis to that extension probably means Jenkins is out.

The last RB we got from the Redskins was the best this franchise has ever had.

I don't buy that they're trying to get rid of Portis, necessarily, but he's the one they'd consider dropping for the cap I guess. Dunno where they are on that. At any rate the essential issue there for the Redskins is that I don't know that Betts can carry it all.
