Running Coaching Change Thread

Not really NFL-related, but Notre Dame hired Jon Tenuta as assistant head coach for defense. Pretty good move.

 

A lots been said about some of our coaches, like Crossman and co., but a name I have never heard from anyone other than myself that I can remember now, is Sunseri. He's not doing his job, and the DL continues to decline. We're not getting near enough production out of them, and if I had to release one coach from the Panthers, Sun goes even before Crossman....who is awful.

 

most people don't have an issue with Sunseri. I've never had an issue with him - I don't think he got Rucker hurt or got Peppers sick.

But we've disagreed on this before, so point taken

 

If Peppers really was that sick why would it have been kept quiet? It would only benefit him for it to be a known issue. It wouldn't hurt the team either. It doesn't make sense to me.

 

I've questioned Sunseri before, but mainly when I wished Trogo was still DL coach. It is true that the DL sucked ass last season and he shouldn't be above scrutiny.

Crossman gets grief because he has been consistently bad, years running.

 

So why does he get a pass and Flajole doesn't?

KF is the one that got Morgan hurt, who let WW walk, ect., ect.?

And Rucker hasnt been hurt the last few years, just the end of the year prior.

 

THats true, you have. And yeah, I DO want Crossman out of here, Im just sayin'....

 

I don't think Flajole is responsible for these situations you're bringing up. FWIW, I haven't questioned Flajole in a good while. LB play this year was excellent, and it was pretty good last year despite it being makeshift.


Rucker's injury is the same injury. I'm not sure what you're questioning.

The 2002 line was a killer. Trgovac was the top DL coach known to the league. That's why he was picked as DC, I don't understand why he gets punished for that or why Sunseri gets punished for waiting his turn and becoming the next guy in line. That's why he was here.

No idea.

At any rate, I have no idea how a position coach could force a player to become weaker and less productive, after having helped coach him to a career pinnacle the year before.

 

I guess that's why I get nostalgic for him there, DL hasn't been as good since. Which is what leads to questioning Sunseri (please note: not demanding his firing, just questioning. And not up to the level I got on Maser). After last year, he deserves being questioned, and not just because of Peppers. We basically got nothing out of that line.

My main beef with Trogo as DC (and it may not be his doing) is the three man rush. Even though we do get pressure with it on occasion, I still freaking hate it. Coming in second is Charles Johnson covering a TE, and all the Peppers cuteness.

 

My main beef with Trgo is waiting for week 8 for our defense to start playing consistently well.

I'm also not punishing him for being promoted, nor am I Sunseri. I just don't think Sunseri is worth a shit as a coach. It's not his promotion I have a problem with. It was the right call then. But now it doesnt make sense to keep him there, when he hasnt done a good job.

Our linebackers played really well last year. Our secondary got better and better. Our DL has underachieved every year under Sun. Every year.
