I missed that game and need to download it, but I'm very intrigued to hear you say that about Gholston.

Not sure if it says more about Gholston or Long, but that's been included in more than one Gholston evaluation I've seen when surfing around.

Unfortunately that doesn't really tell me anything except that Long is fallible and took too wide a stance at the snap. Gholston beat him there because Long set up too far outside.

Trade #13 to Jax for the #28 and #60.

    #28 - Mario Manningham
    #45 - Jeff Otah
#60 - Fleulen, Bryant, Blake, or Jackson.

    I just like Manningham.:crown:

Manningham developed a piss poor attitude as the season went on and his performance showed it. I really liked him coming into the season, but not now.
I would like to see Arrington catch on somewhere, he's not a burner and could bulk up a bit more, but he makes plays especially in the endzone.

Harvey just made a nice play. Not against Jake Long, though.

I'd love to pick up FB Peyton Hilis out of Arkansas at some point. Very well rounded/versatile player with great hands out of the backfield, decent size/speed and is a solid blocker.

We need a true fullback, definitely, even if just for situational duty.

In any case, I've been watching Long because I wanted to see how he would do against Florida's athleticism. In general he's been fine. He's a bit stiff and top heavy, and not athletic enough to be considered one of those true franchise left tackles. I like his intelligence, toughness, and technique for the most part. I noticed that he likes to backpeddle out of the snap a la Gross, but the difference is that he does it to set up a punch and anchor at that point. That might be why the OSU end beat him to the inside, but it means he won't have as much trouble with outside speed rushers. I'd still love to have him, but he's not an Ogden or Pace who you mortgage the farm to get. He's more like a Boselli, which is still quite valuable.

maybe a young FB is a solid way to go, but generally it seems there's a lot to be said for a veteran who's seasoned. There are plenty of blocking backs that end up washing out, though I don't think that's any worse than any other position.

Tony Richardson would be a big pickup, for instance.

Depending on what the run on OT's looks like leading up to our pick, I wouldn't be opposed to trading down with Dallas at 21-22 (the Cleveland pick) if they'd throw Canty and a later pick in on the deal. I get the sinking feeling that OT will be to this year's draft what safety was to last year's draft-the guy we're targeting early will be gone before our 1st pick and our fallback guy is gone before our 2nd.
