Run blocking, and pass rush. You partially covered that with Peppers. But yeah, these two are big. You're going to catch hell for the Jake comment, but assuming he's healthy, he makes a difference.

Oh good lord. Again, go back and look at what people were saying right before the St. Louis game. We looked horrendous on offense the last three preseason games, then we barely beat two awful teams and got blown out at home by another mediocre one. After that preseason, most people already expected a 7-9 or 8-8 season even before we ever thought about being without Jake.

Colin Branch is better than Marquand Manuel. Or Marquand Manual if you're Ron Pitts or Tony Boselli.

Nice attempt at sarcasm, but there is a reason that teams play preseason games, and there's a reason why fans watch them. How many you win doesn't matter, but how you play does, and everyone could see that we sucked Rosie O'Donnell's balls against Philly, New England, and Pittsburgh. The first team offense looked like ass, and could not move the ball at all. Moreover, it's not like that changed in the regular season. We had a few good drives in those first three games, but most of our offense came from Steve Smith doing it all by himself. And as noted, we barely beat two of the worst teams in the NFL and got blown out at home by Houston. This team had major problems on offense that went far beyond just Jake getting injured.
