I can think of several on the defensive side -

    Beason
    Davis
    Marshall
    Harris

All young players who could have an impact for years.

    Offense?

I guess Matt Moore. ? WTF? We suck on offense. Maybe D'Angelo.

Smith is still a bright spot on offense. King is looking pretty good too.

I think Robinson has the chops to play slot WR. King played well this year and Kalil will probably be the guy at C next year. Hartwig should be gone.

Smitty was obvious - I thought he went without saying.

    Reaching for.....Rosario.

Rosario is a bright spot. Not a future star, but a future player. You have to have those too, to go along with the stars.

Kahil will get to show today whether he's a bright spot or not. Hope so. Hope Johnson shows well too. We need both those guys.

We still need to add a blocking TE, but I thought King had a solid year. Rosario looks like a decent hybrid player who can contribute on special teams.

special teams - Brandon Jamison as a gunner on punt coverage. Donte Curry is also looking like a good pick-up.

Fauria wasn't bad, that one TD celebration aside and his age aside. He's our best blocker, still good hands, cheap for the vet 10 year exemption.

i think that knowing that it was a 7-9 season WITHOUT delhomme is pretty important. if he's here and healthy and that's at least a 10-6 season, if not more. factor in that peppers was a statistical no-show and there's reason to be encouraged about '08.

    if jake comes back 100%.

and if peppers returns to form.

    and if there's a #2 WR.

oh, and if there's some help at safety.
