he is no different from 95% of the coaches out there. The days of Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno are gone.

I've listened to louisville sports radio nearly everyday this football season. I've only heard his former players say they really liked and respected him. This season the team fell appart in terms of team character and cohesion. He is always mentioned as a guy who runs a tight ship and as a leader. It doesn't work in the pros but it most definately worked at Lousiville. It's talked about here all the time. Everyone in this town wants him back in terms of coaching and leading the program. It did piss some off that he left but in terms of coaching they haven't gotten past him.

Petrino inherited a clusterfuck from hades for a team. Still though he should have stayed until the season was over. If he did no one could say anything bad about him.

    Definitely.

And, if the Falcons had fired Petrino, I don't guess anyone would say much. Of course, there's a bit different dynamic there, owner over coach, but either way it's a little sorry to quit on a season and not expect players to do the same.

successful college coaches run a tight ship, thats why they win at the college level, the ego's in the pros cant deal with that, and the coaches egos cant deal with the disrespect

I'm just wondering when they re-design the uniforms to disaccociate themselves with the Vick era.

If we fire Fox, teams would fire their coaches just to get him. I know we're getting tired of the 7-9/8-8 stuff, but he's also proven his ability to turn an organization around. Teams like Miami and Atlanta are desperate for that right now.
