Pro Bowl is to NFL what Most Popular driver is to NASCAR. It doesn't mean you had a great year, just means you're the flavor of the day.

    From Yahoo sports:
Kellen Winslow is currently in fourth place among AFC tight ends in the fans' Pro Bowl voting that ends Tuesday. His 176,112 votes trail the Chargers' Antonio Gates (351,240), the Colts' Dallas Clark (274,955) and the Chiefs' Tony Gonzalez (272,271).

Tony Gonzalez is having a Pro Bowl year?!?!??!?!?

Where's Jason Witten and Heath Miller?

Thanks for the correction....my bad. Still, just goes to show that Pro Bowl means you were popular, not neccesarily the best. Isn't there some weighted voting by the players and coaches??

Look at the stats. Gonzalaz leads the NFL for receptions at TE and second in yards. Maybe Winslow should be first but he's definately having a Pro Bowl year.

Depends on how you measure tight-end. Heath Miller has 6 TD's to TG's 4. 78% 1st down percentage. TE should; get crucial yards to convert, catch TD passes, block.

EDIT: I'm not plugging for any guy...I just think a large part of what gets Gonzalez votes is popularity.

Sad that I can't even make a homer call for a Panther candidate at any position.

I voted the Panthers in all categories....can't justify ANY of them (especially David Carr), but did it anyway. And, yes I know that makes me a part of the problem I'm bitching about in this thread.

Gonzalez has nearly twice as many yards, receptions and first downs. I just don't think the popularity factor has messed this one up to the point of it being wrong. Miller just isn't in the group of top AFC TE's this season.

I voted for Beason as my homer pick.
