It's hard for me to judge Carr a shitty QB when he's out there with a fractured spine, and an OL with a history of wilting under heavy pressure. He doesn't have his normal mobility right now either, obviously. It wasn't as if he was gonna hurdle anyone today. We need to IR Carr and make a trade for somebody.

I wasn't thinking starter, I was thinking Vinny is creaky and Carr is fucked.

edit: roster worthy would be what I should have said.

I'm pretty sure we gave up 7 sacks our 1st game in 1995 down in Atlanta.

Its true that poor blocking was responsible for some of those sacks, but Tenn knows Carr cannot punish them for blitzing, so why not throw the kitchen sink. The solution to that has to be to burn them for some TDs.

    Nice analysis.

Well, he did make several attempts to force the ball to Steve yesterday. At least I did anticipate that people would criticize him for that, even after saying last week that he should throw it to Smith even if he wasn't open. But yeah, we're not being very inventive from a play-calling standpoint in getting him the ball.

I didn't go back and watch the game, but Tennessee was brining a lot of pressure every time. Did we have a guy running a short route to bail Carr out? Were the WRs ignoring it or was Carr just not getting the ball there?

Tennessee was flooding the short zones. They weren't open. Also, keep in mind that the Titans weren't blitzing an enormous amount. They were successful when they did, but remember that 6 of the 7 sacks were by their defensive line. Oh, and I just saw this in the statistics and it's shocking enough to put in huge letters:

In addition to the 6 sacks, Tennessee had 12 quarterback hurries in the game.
