I still don't get this. Why cut him when we did....in hindsight, it is clearly a mistake...but even when at the time, it didn't seem like good idea to cut him immediately. Nothing gained by the timing of that move.

No, the timing of cutting Key actually DID accomplish something. If you were a rookie named Jarrett, he probably saw our cutting Key to mean the #2 WR spot was his...

... and we wonder why he came in not working hard.

    I agree, bad decisions.

Would have been really funny if when we picked Jarret, on the draft show we would have said " With the Xth pick, the Carolina Panthers release Keyshawn Johnson and choose Dwayne Jarret" then have a camera cut right to Keyshawn.

that would have been funny as hell. key's a cock. i think the point is jarrett isn't studying - or is too dumb. since smitty did that shit in front of reporters - i'd have to say its a lack of effort on jarrett's part.

Bullshit, at least in that particular case. Jarrett wasn't going around looking for media members to talk to, that was simply their time and reporters wanted to speak with him. Smith was sending a message, but Jarrett wasn't wrong to be speaking with the media right then.

Smith called him out in public so Smith must have an issue with him. Whether he sucks or just can't grasp the offense, he is a bust so far.

I would say we should have never moved down in the draft but I am happy that we ended up with Beason so I won't b!tch about it.
