Ya think? What would we do with out Captain Obvious to point things out that everyone else realized days ago? But sure, it is half amusing and half sad that Carr and Testaverde played on the same level, but Carr is still getting crapped on. It's dumb and unnecessary.
No, I didn't. As I told monstercat, I pretty much spelled out Carr's faults shortly after we signed him. This is what I expected, and that hasn't been "awful," "crap," or "ineffective." It would have been better if Carr hadn't played at all this season so that he would work on those things and be ready to contribute in '08, but instead he's doing what he can now.
For all the crap being flung Carr's way, is he the lowest ranked QB in the league on third downs? No, he isn't. Neither is Testaverde. Neither was Jake in '05 or '04. Jake struggled mightily last season, whether due to injury or something else. None of that is particularly relevant to this discussion, but I can see why you want to draw attention away from the fact that you've made claims you haven't been able to back up.
Actually I don't suggest it's all them when they're doing well, which was the whole point behind me not wanting to pay Jake or any other journeyman quarterback an assload of money.
I do not sit down and think, "hey, I'd like to insult this guy, let me see if I can come up with something." If I insult you, it is a reflex response to irritation. Me saying that you're a coward and liar isn't a shtick, it's me having that little respect for you as a human being.
Or political talk shows. Rationality deals with the logical consistency and coherency of a person's position. As mad as I get, I always provide evidence and examples for the things I say. I don't just rant or lie or make up things because I'm mad and want to be right. But I'm certainly not "reasonable" in that I take things much farther than normal people would. And again, this is me being honest about me and my faults while you're scared of yours.

Now do you have a football question, because it really seems like lately your main interest is talking about me.

So, it's okay when you do it. It's actually okay when anyone does it, because we know it's not necessarily literal or damning. You're the only one that pretends it's earth shattering to exaggerate.

I thought veteran QBs are as good as they're going to get, aren't going to be taught out of bad habits, and so on? Sitting for a year won't do anything to solve the problems Carr has.

It's relevant to the idea that last year, when a situation arose, it was 100% quarterback, to you. And now, it's up to the system/players/coaches to make the QB look good.

So what's the difference? Does less pay excuse less performance? Does more pay absolve the team of its part?

Which we all know. It doesn't really 'win' you anything, it just makes you look bad.

Which, again, is a natural byproduct for any rational person in a random disagreement. :dizzy2:
Plus it'd be nice if you could, at least, come up with a new schtick every once in a while.

Not scared of what you interpret out of absolutely nothing other than your own bias.

You, specifically, wanted to take it to this level. You spoke about me, endlessly, and the more this goes, the more you're speaking about it. If you have a problem with it, you could can the whole fucking thing and just talk about the subject. Give it a try sometime.

Plus, I made a football statement, and you had a problem with it, so no, I don't have a football question, and don't understand why I would.

Making fun of something by exaggerating is obviously quite different from lying about what someone actually said while you're arguing with them. Don't pretend that you can't understand that.
Carr had the football version of PTSD. He's obviously been rattled by the years in Houston and needed a year to get back to the quarterback he was when he came out of college. Unfortunately he's been pressed into duty, and obviously he does look skittish, but until he starts consistently making bad decisions with the ball or being inaccurate with his passes, I don't particularly care what he looks like.
And last year it was. Look, we all remember Jake heaving throws under pressure (much worse than turning the wrong way), overthrowing his receivers, and just generally being horribly inaccurate on third downs. He just was, and he hadn't been that way in previous seasons, which is why I speculated that he might have even had some kind of injury back then. He was sucking, plain and simple.
It's tiresome for you to keep pretending that insulting people makes me look anything besides mean. It doesn't stop anyone from realizing that I'm right when I am, and I've shown in previous instances where I've intentionally gone without using insults that it makes absolutely no difference in how willing people are to acknowledge my point. The only thing it changes is how they respond to me personally, and I'd rather them despise me but realize they made a fool of themselves than be indifferent and remain oblivious to that fact.
Still not a shtick. You are a coward and a liar. I'm not making that up, it's just who you are. If we had never run into each other, you'd still be a coward and a liar. You have an absence of integrity and moral fiber. You're just that pathetic a human being, whether we agree on something or not.
Not really. You're the one who butted your head into this argument, and you're the one who accused me of changing my opinions and outright lied about the things I had said, so don't pretend that you didn't bring this on yourself. You did because you enjoy annoying me and look for opportunities to do so. Essentially you're a more erudite SemperFi.
    Where?

I just don't buy that, especially from someone who says that veteran QBs just aren't going to change. I don't believe a year away would really do him any good. I believe this is just his level of play now, for good or bad.

And that's serviceable. I was hoping for more, but he's executing well for the most part - I don't like seeing them say Smith's wide open and he's not seeing it, or watching him miss TEs on 0 routes, but he's executing. We need more, but I'm not hanging losses on him. I just want to see more.

that's a change in philosophy, though. A number of changes between 05 and 06, and all of them are considered constants but Jake's play. PLayers in/out, opponents, and the list goes on, meaningless? I just don't buy. Especially not when now, it's all about the team supporting the QB into his best play.

comments 10/29 you had an issue with. The thing you might not realize is that most of the time it's you sniping something I've said, and then we regrettably go from there.

If you don't think it takes away from your argument, you're missing remembering frustration that people bring things into other threads and that you have good points buried under 100 posts people are skimming.

Yes. You can't tell me with a straight face you don't want to try to upset people and trap them into mistakes even if you have to force them.

well, I'm allowed to discuss, which it's funny you would suggest otherwise. I didn't come in telling you that you were wrong, I discussed your specific rankings and disagreed. There's no reason to find harm in that. My first lengthy reply wasn't regarding anything you'd said at all. That's a poor way to go out, honestly.

You're allowed to do whatever you want, just as I'm allowed to respond to it.

then why state that "You're the one who butted your head into this argument" as if I don't have that right, or act like I"m trolling you by responding to the topic? I'm not responsible for any issues you have about Carr, or me for that matter. Or on whether or not you stick to topic.

The reason he has no confidence and wears those ridiculous gloves is Chris Palmer taught him to throw like this:

Looks like he should have already known how to throw coming out of college and that he should be able to overcome his Palmer problems by reverting to his college throwing motion.
